Megamal Pinang or otherwise known as Megamall, is a major shopping complex in the Seberang Perai beside the North-South Highway. It is Located right after the Penang Bridge towards Butterworth in Penang.
Megamal Pinang is the biggest and most established mall in Penang’s mainland at the time of its completion in the early 1990s. However, perhaps due to its age and lack of maintenance and tight competition with new malls, many of the stalls are empty and the surrounding is noticeably unkempt. Nonetheless, it is still a favourite hangout of students and youngsters, and preferred supermarket of housekeepers shopping for daily commodities.
It is a 4-storey shopping complex with more than 2,500 parking spaces. Anchored by Mega Lanes, the largest bowling centre in Malaysia, and Mega Cineplex, the mall also has over 600 outlets and kiosks. The Store and Pacific Hypermarkets are major tenants, the reason why locals sometimes refer to the mall as Pacific Megamall.
Strategically situated in the centre of Perai Free Industrial Zone and Bandar Sebarang Jaya, Megamal Pinang allows easy access to business establishments as well as shopping destinations which makes it popular among locals and tourists. Located next to the mall is the Ixora Hotel, while Pearl View Hotel is just 2.5km far away from the mall.
Megamal Pinang features a variety of products and services in the line of fashion and accessories, beauty and healthcare, apparel, books, home décor, electrical and digital and many different services. In addition, Megamal Pinang has many retails for hobby as well as sports like indoor archery, evening gowns, performance costumes, nail and hair academy.
