If you’re wondering why you haven’t seen or heard of this attraction before, it’s because it’s a brand new addition to Penang Island. Those that see pictures from this enchanting place will wonder if it is located in Europe or some remote part of China. Actually, it is located 15 minutes from George Town by car at Tanjung Tokong, near Straits Quay. Once you step into the area, you will feel as if you’ve been transported like Jake Sully to the lush alien world of Pandora in the movie Avatar. The trees in the garden are lit up with multi-coloured lights to create a stunning backdrop. The recommended time to visit this attraction is during night-time as only then will the full effect of the lights take place. The Secret Garden is a stunning sight and photographs amazingly too. These pictures should be enough to convince you to pay a visit:
Best of all, entrance is completely free of charge but you do have to pay RM3 for parking as it is located quite a distance from the main road (make sure you do not fork out extra for this as some residents of the area will try to convince you to park elsewhere). You can also choose to walk there but do note that it’s located quite deep inside the area.
