Inside the literally wet market, there are segregated sections for vegetables, fruits, seafood, poultry and beef. Pork section is located on the left hand side outside the building.

Even on the roadside, there are stalls selling pork and chicken, side by side with clothing and accessories, DVDs, and knick knacks.
There are more hawker centres located at the junction of Jalan Pasar. They are always occupied with breakfast hunters consisting of market goers and office workers. Most famous at the restaurants are the Penang Asam Laksa with fish balls, Hokkien mee, Tom Yam, Loh Mee, Char Koay Kak. You will never get enough of favourites like Roti Canai, economy bihun and Chicken Rice among others.
Along Jalan Perak, there are a number of businesses including a pharmacy, traditional Chinese medicine store and digital stores. You can also find a number of tuition centres.
Perak Road is one of the longest roads in George Town. More developments are underway in this already busy road but locals still go back every morning to the wet market to get their fresh produce and enjoy a hearty meal.
